Job Description

Duties:

  • Provide physicians with diagnostic information in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and/or the Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists and applicable legislation.
  • Perform duties based on current Pulmonary Diagnostic theory and practice and in accordance with established SAH standards.
  • Perform duties associated with the clinical supervision and evaluation of respiratory therapy students during their Pulmonary Function rotation.
  • Select, advise on purchase and operate Pulmonary Function devices to provide safe and effective diagnostic procedures.
  • Evaluate and monitor equipment performance to determine its ongoing effectiveness, accuracy, precision and consistency with the goals of the Pulmonary Function Laboratory.
