Overview

The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is one of two tertiary trauma centres in Edmonton and one of the busiest emergency departments in Canada. It serves a diverse community, including vulnerable and marginalized populations. The emergency department cares for patients with major trauma, cardiac events, injuries, and general medical problems. Staff are dedicated to improving the patient and provider experience through “The Royal Alex Way”. The ED is a highly acute and challenging setting for nursing practice.
