NATURE AND SCOPE

Registered Nurses (also known as RNs) provide a wide variety of nursing services within a defined scope of practice to TRC clients. They observe, assess, monitor and document Client symptoms, reactions and progress. They administer medications and injections, assist nurse practitioners/physicians during procedures and provide education and information to Clients, families, caregivers and TRC staff.

Registered nurses use critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills to provide compassionate and safe Client care. Registered nurses teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of their Clients and take necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being.

The RN’s act as charge nurse when on duty and play a key leadership role in the delivery of an integrated and holistic approach to client health care, health promotion and health maintenance requirements. They provide expert knowledge, guidance and mentorship to students and other...
