Responsibilities

  • Facilitate safety committee functions and responsibilities.
  • Provide expertise to managers and employees on the identification and control of hazards.
  • Support Operations and Safety Managers in planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on safety programs.
  • Lead and guide the reporting, investigation, closure and tracking of workplace incidents in the region.
  • Maintain expertise in safety legislation and best practices, and understand their impact on operations.

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Minimum 5-7 years safety experience
  • Possession of, or working towards, Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation
  • Experience in providing technical safety support to field operations
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is an asset
