Recreation Coordinator

The Activity/Recreation Coordinator develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates a therapeutic recreation program of activities to meet the individual and group needs of Personal Care Home residents and individuals waiting placement in Transitional Care. The coordinator provides operational direction to Activity/Recreation Workers and Volunteers and exercises initiative in determining work priorities and methods.

Experience

• Minimum two years of recent relevant experience in health care.
• Experience with the geriatric population.
• Experience in charting and documentation procedures.

Education

• Recognized Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Programming certificate or equivalent, or completion of at least four courses of the “Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults” program (Red River College) including Foundation to Therapeutic Recreation (RECF-1045), Leisure Con...
