Position Overview
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) plays a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The role involves cost estimation, budget control, contract administration, risk management and ensuring that construction projects are delivered within budget and in compliance with legal and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Planning & Estimation
Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and cost plans at various project stages.
Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to determine project material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies and advise on cost-effective building solutions.
2. Tendering & Procurement
Prepare quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from architectural/structural drawings.
Develop cost estimates and tender pricing for materials, labor, plant, and subcontract works.
