About company/role:

  • Major food/beverage manufacturing
  • Based in the Southeast suburbs of Melbourne
  • Seeking recent graduates in Food Science or Chemistry
  • 6-month casual contract, strong potential to extend
  • Day shift (6am-6pm), night shifts (6pm-6am) as required
  • 7-day fortnightly roster
  • Immediate start

Duties, but not limited to:

  • Collecting samples from manufacturing line
  • QC testing of raw materials and finished products using basic wet chemistry techniques (titrations, pH, brix, HPLC)
  • Batch release
  • Assisting with sensory evaluations
  • Data entry and result compilation
  • Check and fill-in quality paperwork
  • General housekeeping and maintenance of lab
  • Ensure GMP standards

Skills/experience:

  • Tertiary education in Food science, Chemistry, or similar
