Job Description
Job Summary:
The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement process by coordinating with suppliers, preparing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and maintaining accurate purchasing records to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services
- Prepare and process Purchase Requests (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO)
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
- Monitor order status and follow up on delayed or incomplete deliveries
- Receive, check, and record deliveries against POs and delivery receipts
- Maintain updated supplier files and purchasing records
- Assist in canvassing and comparing quotations from suppliers
- Coordinate with Accounting, Warehouse, and End-User departments
