About the Mission at Kern County The Mission at Kern County is the community’s largest provider of emergency shelter services providing comprehensive care to those experiencing homelessness.


We serve three meals every day, offer a safe place to sleep, and provide access to hygienic services, including showers and medical care.


The Mission at Kern County opened “The Lee and Krystyna Jamieson Transitional Home for Women with Children” in October of 2021.


Upon graduating from the 12-month Christian Discipleship Program, residents can move into this transitional housing with their children.


This home has 13 apartment-like suites, a year-round vegetable garden, commercial kitchen, playground, and computer lab.


Each graduate works one-on-one with a dedicated staff member who counsels and guides them as they enter back into the workforce and society.
