Summary This position serves as the Research Compliance Officer (RCO) for the Research and Development (R&D) Program and as the facility Controlled Substance Coordinator (CSC) under the Medical Center Director with VA Central California Health Care System. Responsibilities The paramount duty of this position is to serve as the facility subject matter expert and principal advisor to executive leadership regarding research compliance program effectiveness, research integrity, human subject protections, and biosafety oversight. The Controlled Substance Coordinator function is a collateral program responsibility of comparable analytical and advisory scope. This position is responsible for independently planning, organizing, and carrying out research compliance and controlled substance program oversight, education, training, auditing, monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
