Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineers, planning teams, and site managers to identify procurement needs based on project specifications, BOQ (Bill of Quantities), drawings, and timelines.
• Source, evaluate, and pre-qualify local and international vendors/suppliers for construction materials, mechanical/electrical equipment, steel, cement, pipes, fittings, and specialized items.
• Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), RFPs (Request for Proposals), and tenders; analyze bids technically and commercially.
• Negotiate prices, terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions to achieve cost savings and best value without compromising quality or project deadlines.
• Review and verify supplier offers against technical specifications, standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO), and project requirements; conduct vendor assessments and site visits if needed.
