The Processing Archivist for the Newcomb Archives and Vorhoff Collection assists with overseeing the storage, intellectual organization, and long-term preservation and access of collections, including born digital and digitized materials. They work with members of the Newcomb Institute research team to plan and implement archival processing projects including actively maintaining and improving already processed materials. The Processing Archivist appraises, arranges, describes, preserves, and provides access to archival collections of varying sizes and formats, including paper-based media, audiovisual, digital archives, and graphic and photographic materials. The Processing Archivist will adhere to locally documented archival standards and best practices to create DACS-compliant finding aids using the archival content management system ArchivesSpace.
