Position Overview:
If a licensed Pre-K teacher or Instructional Assistant is absent the IA/Classroom Support Teacher will fill the role of the Instructional Assistant in that room. If there are no Pre-K staff absences the Instructional Assistant will assist in a classroom as assigned by the Pre-K principal. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, professional collaboration with co-teachers as well as the ability to interpret prepared lessons and successfully instruct students using these materials. Other position requirements are provided below.
BASIC FUNCTIONS :
+ Monitor students during arrival, recess and dismissal times
+ Assist in classroom instruction under the general education guidelines under the direct supervision of a certified teacher
+ Assist students in following classroom schedule
