Postdoctoral Researcher in Scanning probe microscopy of low-dimensional quantum materials

is seeking to recruit aPostdoctoral Researcher inExperimental Condensed Matter Physics starting 1st September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, for a duration of 2 years. The position is fixed term, as it is related to the research project Artificial Unconventional Superconductivity at the Atomic Scale (Academy Research Fellowship no 380706). 

The successful candidate will be involved in fabrication of 2-dimensional van der Waals materials using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and characterizing their electronic properties at the atomic scale using low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (LT-STM) as well as atomic force microscopy (AFM) in the Synthetic Quantum Materials group at University of Jyväskylä.

Who we are looking for 

The candidate is expected to have prior experience in scanning probe techniques, cryogenic and ultra-high vacuum systems, and preferably in molecular beam epitaxy.
