Job Description
The Food Web Ecophysiology group studies how nutrients and contaminants move through animals, within food webs, and across ecosystems boundaries and how global changes like land use and climate change alter such processes. The goal of the current project is to understand how artificial flooding used as tool for river restoration reshapes stream and riparian food webs, aquatic–terrestrial connectivity, and resource pathways in hydropower-regulated alpine rivers.
The goals of the postdoc project are to understand: 1) how artificial floods alter the availability and use of aquatic and terrestrial resources within stream and riparian food webs and 2) whether stream food webs follow consistent recovery trajectories when floods are restored after a prolonged interruption.
