Postdoctoral Associate – Engineering, Geomechanics for Energy Applications

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks a Postdoctoral Associate to work on experimental and numerical modeling in the broad area of geomechanics for energy applications. The position will be directly supervised by Professors Tarek Abdoun and Mostafa Mobasher.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Research experience in computational mechanics and computational geomechanics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in modeling geomechanical systems
  • Experience in running hydraulic fracturing experiments
  • Experience in advanced imaging tools
  • Experience in multiphysics modeling within a solid mechanics framework
