Pork Production Technician

The Production Technician is responsible for the overall care of the pigs in all areas of the barn.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper handling and comfort of pigs
• Carry out feeding routine for pigs
• Weigh, sort and move pigs
• Recognize and treat common diseases and disorders of finishing pigs
• Operate feed handling equipment and perform routine service
• Provide water and perform routine maintenance on water drinkers
• Interpret labels, handle and administer medications and vaccines
• Ensure the Unit's biosecurity protocol is followed by all staff and visitors
