We are developing a silicone putty earplug product and need an expert polymer/materials engineer to validate our formulation strategy and help us specify and source two functional silicone masterbatches.
Context:
Our earplug is produced by a manufacturer in China using their existing base silicone putty formulation (this base formulation cannot be changed).
They can only incorporate additional ingredients as non‑powder masterbatches via a twin‑roll mill (no direct powder addition).
We are considering adding:
Hydrophobic / surface‑treated fumed silica masterbatch in PDMS gum
MQ silicone resin masterbatch in PDMS
Your tasks:
- Review and validate our technical concept for:
Treated/hydrophobic fumed silica masterbatch (vs untreated or precipitated silica)
MQ silicone resin masterbatch for tuning mechanical properties (tack, cohesion, permanent deformation)
Recommend:
- Masterbatch carrier PDMS type/viscosity
- Target filler/resin loading in each mast...
