Position Overview

Applications are invited for the summer position of Playground Coordinator in the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. The Playground Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating special events and other activities for the City’s Playground Program as well as training and supporting the Playground Supervisors.

The Coordinator would work from approximately mid June to the third week in August.

Required Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • Six (6) months of experience working on a playground; or two (2) seasons with the City’s Playground Program.
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in the area of recreation or education.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • First Aid and CPR “C” Certificate from a recognized institution.
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Must have current “Play Leader” or “Play Mentor” status through SPRA.
