Job Description

This is professional planning work involving complex tasks related to social infrastructure and community issues within the Housing, Homelessness and Social Infrastructure department. The employee researches, monitors and assesses community social needs; analyzes policies and programs of senior governments and external organizations for their implications on the local community; and contributes to the development and implementation of City policies, plans, strategies and programs that support the development of social infrastructure and enhance community well-being. Duties include reviewing rezoning applications from a social planning perspective, assembling and interpreting demographic and statistical information, preparing a range of reports and presentations, and coordinating significant social planning projects involving internal departments, external agencies, community partners and the public.
