Picker Operator

The Picker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a truck-mounted crane (picker unit) to lift, load, and transport equipment or materials to and from job sites. Operators must adhere to all safety protocols, inspect and maintain equipment, and work collaboratively with other team members on-site.

Responsibility:

Operate picker truck to lift, move, and position equipment or materials according to project needs.

Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.

Participate in daily safety & tailgate meetings.

Report all hazards or near misses to the company representative on site.

Secure loads using rigging gear (slings, chains, spreader bars, etc.) as per load charts and best practices.

Follow load weight limits and safe lifting procedures as per manufacturer’s guidelines and company policies.

Communicate effectively with the swamper/rigging crew and site supervisors.
