Project description
Automatic human activity detection (HAR) and transport‑mode detection (TMD) are essential for urban planning, public transport systems, mobile navigation, healthcare and entertainment. This PhD project aims to develop a generalisable, GPS‑free system that can accurately detect transport modes while preserving users’ location privacy.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and evaluate machine‑learning models for TMD that are robust to geographical location, user variation, smartphone type, and device placement.
