Overview

Personal Support Worker (PSW) responsibilities include providing care to residents based on their care plans, monitoring care, documenting, attending in-service education, onboarding new staff, and following IPAC policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring care given to residents to ensure it follows the established plan.
  • Observe residents and report findings to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in documenting information pertaining to resident care as directed.
  • Attend in-service education sessions, staff meetings, and workshops.
  • Assist in onboarding new staff.
  • Follow IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma Program.
