About the Employer

Support worker/carer required for a young non‑verbal man with additional needs during school holidays and occasional other times. The role includes supporting him both at home and out in the community, helping him access activities he enjoys, and providing personal care support as he is double incontinent.

Responsibilities

• Supporting with outings and activities
• Preparing/providing food and drinks
• Personal care support
• Helping maintain a safe, calm and enjoyable environment
• Using communication methods including Makaton and PECS
• Supporting and/or prompting with personal care (toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed)
• Supporting and/or prompting with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks
• Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship
• Perform other duties as reasonably required
