Job Description

PLC Controls Technician

This is a more advanced position and normally includes:

  • Troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery
  • Reviewing or modifying PLC programs
  • Working with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar platforms
  • Troubleshooting HMIs, VFDs, servos, vision systems, and industrial networks
  • Diagnosing sensors, instrumentation, I/O modules, safety relays, and motor controls
  • Performing equipment startup and commissioning
  • Calibrating temperature, pressure, flow, level, and proximity devices
  • Maintaining PLC backups, electrical drawings, programs, and technical documentation
  • Performing root-cause analysis on repeated equipment failures
