Job Description
PLC Controls Technician
This is a more advanced position and normally includes:
- Troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery
- Reviewing or modifying PLC programs
- Working with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar platforms
- Troubleshooting HMIs, VFDs, servos, vision systems, and industrial networks
- Diagnosing sensors, instrumentation, I/O modules, safety relays, and motor controls
- Performing equipment startup and commissioning
- Calibrating temperature, pressure, flow, level, and proximity devices
- Maintaining PLC backups, electrical drawings, programs, and technical documentation
- Performing root-cause analysis on repeated equipment failures
