Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll Accountant to join a contract opportunity based in Ontario. This role is suited to an accounting specialist who can manage payroll-related reconciliations, support financial close activities, and work collaboratively with Payroll, Finance, and HR teams in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will bring strong payroll accounting knowledge, sound analytical judgement, and the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple employee groups and pay cycles. This is a Contract position.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile payroll balance sheet and related accounts, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Contribute to month-end close by preparing payroll journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules tied to payroll activity.
• Review employer-paid obligations, statutory deductions, taxes, and remittances to confirm completeness and accuracy.
