Pathology Assistant

Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Pathologist, your job responsibilities include but limited to
Prepare, examine and perform dissection of surgical specimens according to standard practice or established procedures
Provide technical training, explanation and /or advice to histopathology and pathology staff in regard to dissection of surgical specimens
Interpretation or discretion required in solving problems by organizing and prioritizing dissection, preparation of tissue on urgency of request and fixation requirement
Maintain and takes photographs of specimens as required
Ensure processing of surgical specimen meets quality, service requirements and prompt turn-around-time.
Observe established safety procedures and ensures compliance
Participate in quality assurance / quality control and follows preventative maintenance of equipment and instrument logs as required by protocol
