Job Description
We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Electrical Engineer to work part-time on our existing Microchip/Atmel-based IoT platform. You will take current designs and develop low-voltage wall switches, sensors, and other smart-building products from concept through to manufacturable hardware.
Key Responsibilities
• Design low-voltage circuits and PCBs for wall switches, sensors, and related smart-building IoT devices
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and generate production-ready Gerber files using Autodesk Eagle (the correct tool you mentioned – also known as Eagle CAD)
• Write, test, and debug microcontroller firmware (C/C++ for Atmel/Microchip MCUs)
• Work directly with component/package suppliers and electronics manufacturers (sourcing, DFM feedback, and production handoff)
• Conduct unit testing, development testing, and troubleshooting of microelectronic assemblies
• Document designs and support iterative improvements to the existing platform
