Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: TYPR 1200, “Academic Writing & University Learning Strategies 1”. The course will be offered in-person in the Fall term, from September-December 2026 on Tues. & Thurs. 9:35am-11:25am and is part of the Transition Year Program (TYP).


Located within the Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development, TYP is an eight-month, full-time program designed to prepare African Nova Scotian and Indigenous students for all aspects of academic life. Upon completion of the program, students will earn four academic credits, including English, that they can use toward their degree program of choice. Students who complete the TYP program are also eligible for a tuition fee waiver which covers tuition related expenses for their first undergraduate degree.
