Outpatient Medical Coder

We're looking for an experienced
Certified Coder
to join our Billing & Coding team. Reporting directly to the Lead Billing and Coding Specialist, this role is responsible for reviewing and coding provider-signed encounters with accuracy, speed, and full compliance. You'll also play a key role in educating providers, ensuring documentation quality, and helping refine service lines as our organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret medical records to assign accurate diagnosis, procedure, and E/M codes based on national coding guidelines.
• Apply strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to ensure proper coding of all services.
• Review provider notes daily for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow up with providers and clinical staff to obtain missing information.
• Identify all chargeable items and assign correct CPT/CPT II/HCPCS codes, including appropriate modifiers.
