Orientation and Mobility Specialist PART-TIME POSITION (6 hours a day, 2 days a week) The Orientation and Mobility Specialist develops and provides orientation and mobility services to students with visual impairment. The Orientation and Mobility Specialist works closely with students, families and school staff to develop and implement individualized orientation and mobility plans to help students navigate their environment safely and independently. Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts assessments to determine the orientation and mobility needs of students with visual impairment. Develops individual orientation and mobility plans. Provides direct instructions to students on orientation and mobility skills, including concept development, sensory development, orientation and mapping, travel techniques, and communication, safety and advocacy.
