<p>Position Summary: Under the direction of the Department Manager, provides quality service to ensure surgical cases are carried out smoothly and efficiently. Functions under the supervision of a qualified professional nurse. Assures that patient and surgeon needs are met. Provides for open communication within the unit, with patients, families, physicians, other units and departments. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures. Builds and maintains professional relationships. Responsible for completion of Central Processing Coordinator job duties on a rotating basis to ensure proper sterilization and availability of instruments to be used in the Operating Rooms.
