Optometrist

The Optometrist is responsible for providing comprehensive vision care to patients so they can care for their eyes and access tools to support their eyesight. Their duties include conducting eye inspections, identifying signs of disease or injury, and prescribing corrective lenses.

Job Description

• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions
• Diagnose, manage, & treat conditions & diseases of the human eye
• Examine visual systems, diagnose problems or impairments, & prescribe corrective lenses as appropriate

Job Qualifications

• Education- 4 or 6 years graduate of Doctor of Optometry
• Special training- Examining the human eye, analyzing ocular function, prescribing and dispensing ophthalmic lenses & other optical devices, accessories; Conducting ocular exercise and vision training.
• Certificates- Diploma and Certificate of Registration
• Licensed board passer
