OPERATING DEPARTMENT PRACTITIONER

General Description

Accountable for providing professional nursing care to patients within a hospital unit, adhering to hospital policies and nursing services principles, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality care practiced. The role is situated in the Operation Theatre (OT) and supports the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) to maintain safe, efficient, and patient‑focused care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work under the Unit Manager to carry out shift duties and ensure quality care is rendered.
• Notify the unit manager of any changes that could impact standards of care.
• Collaborate with the Unit Manager in the smooth operation of the OT and CSSD.
• Prepare the operation theatre room (damp dusting, gas supply verification, trolleys, standby items).
