Summary At the VA Maryland Health Care System, our health care teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a member of the nursing care team and assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving post-surgical, preventive, acute, sub-acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care. **This position is located in Baltimore, MD in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities The Nursing Assistant (NA) in the Emergency Department (ED) utilizes glucose monitoring machine to receive glucose readings for veterans, provides direct care for complex veterans, perform, and transmits EKGs as ordered, assists in transporting patients to and from diagnostic testing procedures, acts as therapeutic companions to identified high risk patients and makes observations of subtle changes in veteran's condition, relaying information to the Primary Nurse.
