The National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) has announced its fifth annual Seafarers’ Conference. It will be held on 19 March 2026 at the NMCI campus in Ringaskiddy in Cork Harbour.


The announcement was made in Quilty, Co. Clare by Timmy Dooley T.D., Minister of State with responsibility for the Marine.


The conference will bring together Government departments, maritime industry stakeholders, the supply chain workforce, and education providers.


This year’s theme is a “digital ocean economy” driven by skills, data and technology. Sessions will cover artificial intelligence’s impact on seafaring, maritime data, and future skills demands.


“Artificial Intelligence will bring both advantages and challenges,” Minister Dooley said. “The Seafarer’s Conference will provide an important educational opportunity for seafarers.”
