Roles and Responsibilities:

Role & responsibilities

  • To Manage & Support Company's (VERITAS) Backup Environment/Setup
  • Backup Admin is primarily required to:
  • Monitor daily backup status, take required actions on failed/queued backups, as necessary & create/delete
  • backup policies as requested.
  • Troubleshooting of backup failures.
  • Handle Tape Media Management.
  • Prepare Backup Reports / Review Backup Policies / Collection and Maintenance of Data required for Audit
  • (i.e. Audit Data Logs)
  • Coordinate with Server Team / Application team as well as Backup vendor (SME) in case of issues unable to
  • resolve locally.
  • Have knowledge of Backup Support required during Application DC-DR drills / BCP drill.

Technology Knowledge required

  • VERITAS NetBackup Appliance 5240.
