Job Description Quote Analyst

Responsible for the preparation and coordination of Request for Quotations (RFQs) for materials components, subassemblies and/or services based on quote requirements received from various departments within the organization (i.e. Program Management, Sales).

Analyzes quotations for content in addition to preparing complete cost analyses.

Defines needs, clarifies discrepancies and determines the structure of the bill of materials (BOM).

Monitors the RFQ process and resolves issues that arise.

Completes costing information, including generation of costed BOMs, identifying exceptions and assumptions, and documenting all unique costs and issues.

Responsible for supplier selection, make/buy decisions, and interfacing with sales and the customer to resolve issues.

May also monitor technology trends and prepare cost‑reduction and other recommendations based on those trends.
