DEPARTMENT: MINING

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To take charge of gangs, instructors, and trainees to mine a section of the workings of the mine in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act Regulation 8.1 for training purposes.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

• Grade 12/ Std 10 is essential
• Permanent Blasting Certificate/Lev 3 Rock breaker qualification is essential
• Competent A & B is essential
• 12 months experience as Panel Leader is essential (Internal)
• At least 2 – 3 years' experience as a Conventional/Trackless Miner is essential (External)
• Perform basic firefighting and first aid
• Extinguish a fire by means of a portable fire extinguisher
• Apply all Competent A, B and Blasting activities in accordance with MHSA Regulations 14.1 (1), 14.1 (1) 5, 14.1 (7), 4.4 (1)
