The Media Technician will be responsible for ensuring all work undertaken within the Media department is performed to a high standard and complies with current written procedures. In addition, the Media Technician will be involved in calibrations, quality control of media, ensuring stock levels are sufficient and maintenance of equipment. 

Reporting to the NSPT Department Manager, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing a high level of support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that work performed within the area complies to SOP’s/methods.
  • Completing internal equipment calibrations and records.
  • Preparing media and reagents.
  • Conducting routine QC analysis of all media/reagents and report deviations
  • Signing off Media Quality Certificates.
  • Cleaning and sterilising reusable laboratory ware.
