Microbiology: includes the subspecialties of Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Virology, and Parasitology. Core Laboratory 1: includes General and Special Chemistry, Blood gases, Immunology, and Serology, and knowledge of manual and automation lines. Core Laboratory 2: includes Hematology, Coagulation, Special Coagulation, and Urinalysis. Transfusion Services (Blood Bank): includes Blood Transfusion medicine, and Blood Utilization and Waste. Phlebotomist: Venipuncture and skin puncture. Specimen preparation for reference laboratories. Quality Management and Quality Control: Directs the collection of data for studies related to quality improvement; including monitoring of patient turn-around times (TAT). Manages inspections with oversight of laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance document control to meet accreditation standards.
