What we are seeking:
BC Building Science seeks an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Team. The main role involves energy modelling for new buildings, and energy audit for existing buildings. The successful candidate will work with a team of mechanical engineers supervised by a professional engineer.
What we expect from you:
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Registered / eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC. Having a P.Eng. designation is a bonus.
- Minimum two-year's experience with IES-VE or a similar hourly energy simulation software tool.
- Field experience with building mechanical systems reviews (energy audit / field review / commissioning of HVAC).
- Good understanding of local building codes, energy modelling guidelines, construction methods / materials, and detailed drawings.
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English – written and oral.
