Mechanical Engineer 1

Overview We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer 1 at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for developing basic mechanical solutions and utilizing CAD software to model basic parts. Essential Functions Complete basic mechanical designs for Garmin or OEM products Apply knowledge of math, science and physics, strong spatial skills, and a pragmatic approach in taking product concepts to mass production Model basic parts and components including injection molded plastic, die cast aluminum and zinc, sheet metal, CNC machined and screw machine fabricated parts, compression molded rubber, extrusions, display components, flex circuits, touch panels, speaker enclosures, mounting systems, etc. Specify requirements for and source parts such as electrical connectors, speakers, microphones, LCD’s, backlights, keypads, switches, electric motors, screw machined parts, rotary controls, batteries and antennas Complete test plans for ba...
