Job Description: Mechanical Design Engineer

The purpose of the Mechanical Design Engineer position is to design, develop, and ensure compliance with ASME/ANSI standards within custom fabrications.

Responsibilities

  • Design systems in Solidworks based on sold jobs.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineers and Sales to develop engineered solutions.
  • Compare P&ID drawings to system quotes to ensure accuracy and revise as necessary.
  • Perform necessary engineering calculations such as NPSH calculations, pressure drops, and pump/flow meter sizing.
  • Work with OEM vendors to ensure ASME/ANSI design compliance.
  • Provide instructions to ensure fabricators build within compliance standards.
  • Build weld maps, frame, or structural design layouts.
  • Complete revisions of drawings per customer markups and coordinate scope changes.
  • Prepare detailed Bill of Material (BOM) for each system.
