Responsibilities
Administrative Functions – administer resident assessments, coordinate care plans per regulations, schedule Medicare/Medicaid, direct nursing assistants, ensure compliance with policies, report incidents, and maintain updated schedules.
Charting & Documentation – prepare resident charge slips, maintain daily census, record physician orders, complete incident reports, and sign all entries in medical records.
Drug Administration – prepare and administer medications, verify resident identity, manage floor stock, monitor narcotics, dispose drugs per protocol, and notify supervising nurse of discrepancies.
Personnel Management – conduct staff evaluations, determine staffing needs, supervise nursing assistants, perform rounds, address discipline, and facilitate training.
Clinical Care – perform nursing treatments (e.g., catheterization, wound care, therapeutic services), administer restraints as needed, monitor vital signs, and communicate changes to atte...
