About the role

The MariaDB Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for ensuring the deployment, maintenance, performance, integrity and security of a MariaDB database platform for the applications that rely on it. The role involves working closely with Software Reliability Engineers, System Engineering colleagues, and Research & Development counterparts to deliver best‑possible database performance in a follow‑the‑sun organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deploy database clusters, supporting multi‑terabyte workloads with a strong emphasis on high‑availability and fault‑tolerance, including multi‑site high‑availability when required.
• Ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures operate correctly, including in disaster recovery situations.
