Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Provides direct supervision and work direction of all technical personnel on all shifts working in Pathology, Microbiology, chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank and Phlebotomy.
+ Provides supervision and direction of Point of Care testing. Evaluates request for bedside testing instrumentation based on medical necessity, cost, and efficiency. Involves key laboratory and non-laboratory personnel in the evaluation process.
+ Monitors and maintains the Laboratory’s Quality Assurance Program and is responsible to implement changes that will improve our quality of service.
+ Interviews, hires, and provides counseling and discipline as needed.
+ Evaluates work performance of all technical staff, POC, and writes annual performance reviews.
+ Proactively resolves employee conflict and/or personnel problems acting as impediments to a high level of departmental morale.
