What You'll Do
- Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment on a variety of engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Repairing mechanical systems by following health and safety standards, instructions, diagrams, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Observing mechanical devices and locating source of problems by using precision measuring and testing instruments, examining the form and texture of parts.
- Removing defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Determining changes in dimensional requirement of parts by inspecting used parts and measuring instruments.
- Controlling instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges; adjusting functional parts of devices as required.
