Maintenance Site Operative

Role Overview

We're looking for a practical, hands‑on Maintenance Operative to join our team at Biffa in Thurrock. The successful candidate will inspect and repair trade waste bins, carry out cleaning, use power tools and basic welding, load/unload bins with a forklift (if qualified), maintain a tidy workshop, follow health and safety procedures and work well both independently and as part of a small, friendly team.

Hours & Compensation

Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:30 (45 hours per week). Pay: £15.21 per hour + monthly allowance. Annual salary approximately £35,591, including allowance.

• Inspect, repair and maintain trade waste bins to company standards, including replacing lids, wheels and other parts.
