Position Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Helper is responsible for assisting with inventory, basic repairs, and basic maintenance in various areas, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cleaning, painting, lawn and grounds upkeep, and other areas as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Person in performing basic maintenance, including:
  • Plumbing: un-clog sinks, toilets, showers and tubs; repair/replace toilets, faucets
  • Electrical: repair/replace broken switches/plugs/fuses, replace smoke detectors
  • Carpentry: repair/replace damaged wood trim, make doors/windows operable, repair/replace door/window hardware
  • Painting
  • Telephone
  • Drywall
  • Unit turnaround overflow
